I'm not into Marc Jacobs so I wasn't so ecstatic that he was opening to the public this time around. Then I heard there would be makeup on offer and decided to check it out.
The sale opened on Wednesday. VIP were invited at 9 and the public at 11. The first person got in line at 6:20! When I entered the venue I bypassed all the clothing racks and went to check out the accessories downstairs. I was surprised to see buckets chock full of goodies! Everything is actual samples. As of March 2015, Marc by Marc Jacobs is no more. The designer is purging his closet and selling his vintage and archival items to the public. Check through the buckets carefully. Some bags are outdated or have stains and wear, while others are in perfect condition. None of the accessories are over $80 and the shoes are either $40 or $60. See pictures below for detailed price list.
I went back upstairs to check out the makeup. There was only one counter and a small selection. I really wanted a lipstick but there were none available. Read what I found here.
I didn't have time to check the apparel but shoppers seemed happy with the selection. There was also kid's wear at 80% off.
Staff have been restocking but as of yesterday afternoon it seems like everything is out. Tipsters notified me that there were only ugly clothes left, and nothing good left at the accessories. Sale goes through Sunday at 4. Let's see if they'll slash prices for the last day! Did you go? How long did you wait in line?
