The last time Rebecca Taylor had a sample sale was in June in the 260 sample sale venue. If you recall, I did like some pieces there, but was disappointed with the pricing and walked out empty handed.
This time around, the sale was in their showroom. The main reason that I went was to see the Loeffler Randall shoes that Rebecca Taylor carries, and boy were the sample sales gods gracious to me this time!
I made sure to be there when the doors were scheduled to open, and it was already buzzing with eager shoppers. Apparently they opened the doors early when they saw how many people were waiting outside. I bee-lined to the shoe boxes stacked against the back wall and found another surprise:sizes 5-10 were in stock. There were booties, sandals, and heels from this summer's collection and from previous seasons. What astounded me was that the prices ($10,$25, $50,$100) was at least half off from the independent Loeffler Randall sample sale! There were Rebecca Taylor footwear as well but I did not bother looking at that.
I looked through the racks of apparel ($30-$150). Sizing was mostly sample size- 2 and 4. But I spotted some 0, 6, and 8 as well. The majority of the clothes were actual samples, and the quality reflected that. I saw a top, that at $89 had been too expensive to purchase at the previous sample sale, priced at $40. This still was not rock bottom pricing, but I rationlized the splurge because I really liked the top!
There were good deals on accessories as well! Leather belts made in France, selling on their site for $150 were $10 at this sale. Loeffler Randall cosmetic pouches were $50. Lipsticks, candles, tights, beanies, and mittens were $10. White and Warren travel wraps were $100.
Photos weren't allowed but I managed to sneak some for you.
The only downside about this sale was there were no dressing rooms, just one floor length mirror in the front of the space. Lots of women were stripping in the open near the footwear.
